Opinion: The “Meet The Press” set should be in the Newseum

Below is an email that I sent yesterday to NBC Universal President and Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Zucker and NBC News President, Steve Capus.

It reads:

Gentlemen,

I would like to bring something to your attention. I've started a poll on newsvine.com that asks the question "Should the Meet the Press set be in the Newseum". The poll just started on Sunday, but with 40 votes, 93% of the people responding agree: Yes, it would be a fitting memorial.

Whatever happens to Meet the Press this coming Sunday, I ask and beg of you, don't let the current set be used. Even if you have to shoot on an empty set with a folding table and folding chairs, don't use Tim Russert's Meet the Press set. It deserves a place of remembrance.
